Here I'm sharing my story as Elliot's father, but it's important to also listen to the stories of those directly in the disability community. It's crucial to approach each person with empathy, respect, and a willingness to listen to their individual needs and preferences. It's important to remember that each person is unique, and their experiences may vary.
This may include creating employment opportunities, promoting inclusive social activities (such as the Autodesk MIND Network, our employee resource group that supporting mental health, neurodivergence, and disability inclusion), and ensuring that public spaces are accessible and welcoming to all. Supporting neurodivergent individuals involves creating a supportive and inclusive environment, advocating for resources and services, and creating opportunities for them to fully thrive in society.

Over the years, Elliot has become an expert motor racer, receiving many accolades and even being recruited to represent countries like Switzerland in Italy in international championship races. 🏎️Įlliot faced many challenges growing up, but his racing turned into an effective therapy, helping him make friends and allowing him to express his talent and succeed at the highest level. Some people with autism may show remarkable expertise in a narrowly focused area, and in my son Elliotts' case, that was motorsport from a young age. My son Elliott was diagnosed at six years old.
